I read the book called the Chocolate Touch, It was about a boy who could turn everything he ate or touched into chocolate. I loved reading the book because it really caught my attention and i could not get my eyes out of it. My favorite scene from the book was when the little boy was brushing his teeth with toothpaste and then the tooth paste turned into chocolate. My favorite part about the book was everything since it just talked about chocolate and even more chocolate.

Home Again... Home Again....Yeah!!
Hello to All my Students,
Can you believe that it is almost time to start again!!! Where did the summer go? I have not done all the cleaning and cooking that I needed and like to do!!
Connor has finished up with his summer lacrosse and we are done traveling up and down I 95 and I am soooo Thankful for that! He had and excellent season and learned tons! Spencer and I are very proud of him. I cannot believe that my baby is about to be a senior in high school! I do not know where all the time has gone! We have been busy visiting all different kinds of Colleges to see where he would like to continue his education. So as you all can see I have had a very busy summer. I have not had my summer fix to the beach, but St. Simons is calling me to come on down and we are heading to the beach in 6 days; the count down is upon us!
I am so excited to hear that my paraphrasing class is still alive and well in Georgia. I can't wait to hear about your discussions about Midnight Magic. Can you tell me what you all thought about Fabrizio, Magician, or the Count? What did you thing about this book? What did you think about the setting? Did you all make a picture in your mind about where the story took place?
I also re-read a Tiger Rising, what did you all think about that book??Let me know so that we can blog about the books. I am glad that you all are reading and posting. I am getting very excited about the new school year and I can't wait to see you all.
School starts back on the 13th of August and we are planning an open house on the 9th of August! I can't wait to see ALL my students...Enjoy the rest of your summer and keep blogging...
Love & Miss you !!!!

I went to volunteer at the Humane Society in Habersham. I walked a Border Collie mix that was named Daphne. She is so sweet and she is like a big puppy. I would like to have her but my parents won't let me. BOO HISS. I miss my school friends and hope they are having a good summer. I finished the Midnight Magic book. It was good. I also read the book Tiger Rising.

Hello to All My Wonderful Students,
I have not signed on the blog as I have been busy traveling! We have been to Connor's Lacrosse games across the states. I have just returned from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was a very long drive, but worth seeing Connor play lacrosse with northern teams and his exposure to different styles of play. On our ride to Philly it was smooth sailing until we got to Washington DC and then we hit traffic and crazy drivers, I was a mess! It was a very nerve racking ride, going very fast and then stopping very quickly does not make for a smooth ride and I got car sick, I never get car sick! We arrived safely and enjoyed our time in Philly. We saw the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. We walked around the city of Brotherly Love! It was great to see Connor and the other kids experience the city of Brotherly Love!
On our way home we rode the Shenandoah Valley Scenic Road., it was an inspiring and beautiful ride. We saw many wonderful sites as well as wild life. I can tell you all I saw a BEAR! It was as big as a large dog running across the road! It was an amazing sight and I was very glad that I was in the car! I hope to be able to show you all my pictures when school starts to share the beautiful scenery.
Our next stop was the Natural Bridge in Virginia. This bridge was built by nature and is over 500 million years old, can you believe that! I walked where George Washington and Thomas Jefferson walked! George Washington carved his initials in the bridge, it was an incredible sigh and his initials were still there!
As I have been traveling I have been reading the books that we have to read over the summer. I am hoping that others are reading as well. I have read Star in the Storm in which it is a true story about a Newfoundland dog. I have also read Fly Girl which I know is not on the list, but a very good read. It is about an African American Girl who flew planes during World War II. Is anybody interested in reading any of these books? I have also read, The Chocolate Touch, White Star and I am re-reading Midnight Magic. I hope that everyone is reading Midnight Magic, because this is the book Ms. Ava has chosen for everyone to read! It is a fantasy book about kings, queens and a mystery. If you have started to read the book lets start a discussion about it. If you have questions about the book blog about it so that we can read everyone's thinking about the book....
I have missed everyone and I can't believe that our vacation is almost over. We will be together very soon. Be safe on your travels and BLOG!!!!
Love you all Ms. Maura

My trip to Myrtle Beach was fun but it rained most of the week. On Friday the 8th I went to play putt putt and the theme was Captain Hook. After it we went to an ice cream place called Fat Matt's Ice Cream and it was good. I had a cookies and cream milkshake. On that day we were moving to a different room because we wanted to stay another day and the room was cool and awesome. There was my cousins that we went with the Poole's and the Rogers'. On the way home it took 5 hours at least and it was boring. I am almost done with The Hunger Games book. It is so good and I love it so much. On June 11, I just started soccer camp. It is fun.

Yeah!!! I see that more students are blogging about their summer. WOW!! our own special reporter is now blogging with us! I am so excited to hear that my students are vacationing with family and friends. What wonderful vacations everyone is enjoying. I have not been to Pigeon Forge so I want to hear more details about this location. I also have not been to Myrtle Beach in a very long time. If I was to go to either of these places what would you all recommend that I go and see?
I have not been on vacation as of yet, but I have been to many different lacrosse fields. The fields have been hot and buggy, but I am enjoying watching my son play. He is doing Great which is even better. We will be heading to Kennesaw Mountain this coming weekend and I am looking forward to watching some great lacrosse. I will keep you all posted on how the games go!
Keep reading and blogging so that all of our friends can stay in touch....Miss you all!! Ms. M

Jamie Fox, Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, Hilary Duff, Robert Patterson and Kristen Stewart.
After that we took pictures, at a photo studio like we were being robbed, we had a festive day. Then we went back to the hotel room and relaxed. It was fun having family time.
PS : I am missing you all, hope that you guys are having a great super Summer.
Yours truly, PrincessHannah

Alex I like your word choice in describing your fears of sharks. I am enjoying staying in touch with you over the summer. It appears that you and I are the only bloggers this summer and I am enjoying our time blogging together!
I am glad that you tutored with Mr. Ron. He has a different approach to Math that I enjoy watching him teach others. I am glad that you are working with him. I would like you to be able to teach others all the cool math tricks he teaches you! Did you get your packet of reading that I left with Ms. Ava? I hope that you and Austin will connect over the summer and finish the vocabulary connection!
I am glad that you got to go to the pool with your neighbors. Your neighborhood has a great pool!!
Miss you...Keep blogging....Ms. M

Should people be able to have exotic pets like Chimpanzees or Tigers?
People should be allowed to keep exotic animals like Chimpanzees or tiger?
By: Austin Setzer
Can you imagine having a white tiger as a pet instead of a regular old house cat? People should be able to keep exotic animals. My reasons about keeping exotic animals are to learn about them, they don’t have to be dangerous, and people would get bored with regular pets then exotic animals.
Having exotic pets helps you to learn more about them. Before you get an exotic critter, you can look them up on the computer or in a book. It would help if you know what they like to play with. It also helps you to have food and know what they eat. Find out how big they will get, so you would know. You should look them up to research animals.
They don’t have to be dangerous. What if the animal has a gigantic cage and doesn’t bite you? You will need a giant cage for a bear or elephant or a giraffe. You can train exotic animals to not bite. If a tiger bites you can put it to sleep or put it in the zoo. The cage can go outside in the big yard, so the animal can run around in the cage. Not all German Shepard. Some types of cats are exotic animals, like a tiger, lion, and leopard.
People get bored with regular pets. Some people would like more interesting animals for pets than dogs or cats. I am one of them. I would like a nice and warm hearted monkey for a pet. I also want a penguin too. They are remarkable. I’m bored with dogs and cats.

PALEONTOLOGY By: Zathan Z
Hi I’m Zac Bagwell. I’m in 5th grade. I like space, rocks and minerals, dinosaurs, and gaming. I think it would be cool to be a paleontologist because you get to dig up fossils and learn about the past earth and how it was. If you are a paleontologist, you might even find a new species of dinosaur!
Paleontology is related to one branch of the earth science which is geology.
Paleontologists dig up old dinosaur bones called fossils. Fossils aren’t just dinosaur bones though, other types of fossils are the result of: mummification, amber, freezing, petrification, imprints, molds and casts, coprolites, and gastroliths (Holt).
“Fossils are an important source of information for finding out about past geological events” (Holt 197). Paleontologists use these fossils to learn about the dinosaurs that lived a long time ago. The fossils even help them learn about how the earth was many years ago.
In 1796 George Cuvier proved there were bones of extinct animals from a long time ago. George was a scientist that studied organismal biology. He is considered to be the father of paleontology (www.ucmp.berkeley.edu).
How do you become a paleontologist? Paleontologists need a college degree and most paleontologists also need a PhD in paleontology, geology, anatomy, biology and stuff like that. Classes that paleontologists go to are in biology and geology. Knowing about the dinosaurs and how they lived and how they fossilize are important for a paleontologist to know(www.projectexploration.org).
I would like to find a Dimetrodon and a Stegosaurus because in my video game, “ Fossil Fighters,” those are my main dinosaurs I use in the game. The scientists believe that the Stegosaurus used its spikes to defend and cool down itself. Both dinosaurs look awesome.

The Six Avengers
In New York City there were six Avengers : Iron Man, Black Widow, Green Archer, Thor, The Hulk and Captain America. But then, in the World of Silence the evil Loki was resting on a tree stump.
“I will win this war soon. I will have it all and then Midguard will be mine!”
“We’re forming this group of people to fight the battles that we cannot fight,” said Nick Fury, director of S. H. I. E. L. D. “
Iron Man said “If we can’t save the world then we’re going to avenge it. Dr. Banner I am a total fan of how you turn into a green monster and um, and save the world a bit, and also go out of control and …oh I don’t know how to say this but you’re awesome!”
“Uh thank you.”
